Koyasan Shingon-shu, Ajari, Chief Priest at Kongo-Hokaku Daishinotera Temple

At the age of 12, he renounced the secular world and entered into the Buddhist priesthood. After training at Koyasan Kongobu-ji Temple and Kiyoshikojin Seicho-ji Temple, he now serves as the chief priest of Daishinotera Temple in Yokkaichi City, Mie prefecture while devoting himself to the way of Buddhahood as a just and loyal protector of the teachings of Kobo Daishi he actively works to spread the music used in Buddhist rituals, “Shomyo” and performs “Goeika”, a traditional Buddhist art of poetry reading which is delivered rather as if it were sang. He has performed Shomyo at such venues as the Suntory Hall, Tokyo Opera City, the National Theatre of Japan and the Izumi Hall, and made an appearance with Mari Natsuki herself in one of her conceptual theatre projects at the Inshouha Theatre. Abroad, he has performed in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., even at the United Nations Head Quarters in New York.
